Glasses or Contacts?

I get this question a lot from patients who are gamers or work in front of a screen all day. There are many benefits to wearing glasses including adding a blue light blocker to the lens. Are Your Eyes Safe to Dilate?

Not everyone has the eye shape that is safe to dilate. Make sure your Optometrist checks your eyes before dilating. Digital Screen Time

How long do you engage in digital screen time every day? Gamers and people who work in front of the computer need to be conscious of the amount of screen time on a daily basis. Diversifying the ESports Community

Attending the ESports Business Summit in Las Vegas. This seminar focused on women in the industry. What a huge developing business. As an optometrist, those individuals who are involved with extreme digital screen time could very well be in need of vision care dealing with issues of blurred vision, visual fatigue and headaches and improved performance in gaming. Optometrist for eSports

I have been working with individuals sitting in front of monitors for well over thirty years. I have had very good success in dealing with visual symptoms such as blurred vision, headaches and visual fatigue resulting from prolonged close-up viewing of these digital devices.
Never have I seen before the visual demands on users of these devices as those participating in esports. There are various ways we can improve the performance of these players, including prescription lenses and appropriate filters for near and vision training, especially for those viewing multiple monitors and having to efficiently aim and focus their eyes, among the monitors.
Another problem with the users of digital devices is dry eye. This stems from the intensity and resulting stress the user encounters while playing. Part of the problem could be dealt with by making sure the player is blinking their eyes and part of the problem could be dealt with artificial tears or prescription eye drops. If the dry eye is constant, the individual should seek professional eye-care.

Coordination of the Eyes

In addition to measuring the prescription for clarity in one’s glasses, one must examine how well the eyes coordinate.
